A Utah operator contracted TAQ to design and manage an 8-well abandonment program, with very little well history data available, in order to allow their team to focus on revenue-generating projects.
Price reductions $5,000/well*
-13% project cost
Indirect savings $2,000/well
-5% equiv. project cost
prevented overcharges
TAQ researched the available public data,
including that of offset wells, to develop an
understanding of the field. Designs were created
and permits approved in a timely manner, and
TAQ executed the project as-planned, satisfying
all regulatory and client requirements.
1. Execution Despite Data Limitations: With very limited data, TAQ prepared and executed a detailed wellbore abandonment program.
2. Regulatory Support: TAQ worked directly with regulators during project planning to expedite approvals and maintained that communication during operations to mitigate any issues.
3. Cost Control: Combining operations oversight, daily cost monitoring and cost reconciliation, TAQ was able to limit out of scope charges.
"TAQ Energy did an exceptional job coordinating and executing an eight well P&A program for AEC. Proposals and regulatory submittals were professional and done in a timely manner. TAQ coordinated with regulatory bodies, contractors, and on- site supervision to exceed our expectations. They communicated all out-of-scope issues in a timely manner and kept a tight handle on cost control. I would strongly recommend TAQ to anyone looking for third party help with plug and abandonment programs.“
