TAQ provided project management services for a State of Utah orphan well program. The work scope consisted of 21 wellbore abandonments with associated facility and flowline decommissioning. TAQ also interfaced directly with the site reclamation contractor to coordinate work during the project.
1.4% variance to plan
Contract: $1,980,000
Actual Cost: $2,008,000
TAQ partnered with a well service company to deliver a cost-effective solution to UDOGM and were awarded the contract. Project tracking and coordination were provided to maintain a high-level of reporting and oversight.
1. Project tracking: Coordination meetings, status updates, cost tracking and comprehensive reporting allow all stakeholders to have visibility into the project.
2. Cost control: The cost variance for the project was within 1.4% of the contract. The tight cost control was the result of detailed planning and engineering support to minimize out of scope expenditures
3. Schedule delivery: All 21 wellbore abandonments were completed in 71 days including crew days off. The team coordinated multiple rigs and support crews to complete the abandonments prior to winter to avoid increased seasonal costs.
